Lou Reed Live is a live album by Lou Reed, released in 1975. It was recorded at the same concert as Rock ‘n’ Roll Animal ; on December 21, 1973, at Howard Stein’s Academy of Music in New York. It features three songs from Transformer, one song fromThe Velvet Underground & Nico (Reed’s former band’s debut album) and two songs from Berlin. In 2003, BMG Special Music Products re-issued this album under their “Extended Versions” series. The title was changed to reflect this, but the contents remained unchanged. This live album’s stereo mix differs from its counterpart in that guitarist Dick Wagner is heard on the left channel, and Steve Hunter is on the right; this arrangement is reversed on Rock ‘n’ Roll Animal.

Elvis Aaron Presley a (January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977) was an American singer and actor. A cultural icon, he is commonly known simply as Elvis and is also sometimes referred to as The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll or The King.

Presley began his career in 1954 as one of the first performers of rockabilly, an uptempo fusion of country and rhythm and blues with a strong back beat. His novel versions of existing songs, mixing “black” and “white” sounds, made him popular—and controversial—as did his uninhibited stage and television performances. Presley had a versatile voice and he had unusually wide success encompassing many genres, including rock and roll, gospel, blues, country, ballads and pop. To date, he has been inducted into four music halls of fame.

In 1968, after making movies in Hollywood and having been away from the stage for seven years, he returned to live performances in a television special, which led to a string of successful tours across the U.S., notably in Las Vegas, for the remainder of his career. In 1973, Presley staged the first global live concert via satellite (Aloha from Hawaii), reaching at least one billion viewers live and an additional 500 million on delay. It remains the most watched broadcast by an individual entertainer in television history.

Throughout his career, he set records for concert attendance, television ratings and recordings sales. He is one of the best-selling solo artists in the history of popular music, with sales between 600 million and one billion worldwide, and he is regarded as one of the most important figures of twentieth century popular culture. Among his many awards and accolades are 14 Grammy nominations (3 wins) from the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, which he received at age 36, and being named One of the Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Nation for 1970 by the United States Jaycees.

Health problems, prescription drug dependence, and other factors led to his death at the age of 42.

Jefferson Airplane was an American rock band formed in San Francisco, California in 1965. A pioneer of the psychedelic rock movement, Jefferson Airplane was the first band from the San Francisco scene to achieve mainstream commercial and critical success.

In the 1960s, Jefferson Airplane was one of the most sought-after and highly-paid concert acts in the world and they are also notable as the only band to have performed at all three of the most famous American rock festivals of the 1960s — Monterey (1967), Woodstock (1969) andAltamont (1969), also headlining the first Isle of Wight festival. Their recordings were internationally successful and sold in great quantities, and they scored two US Top 10 hit singles and a string of Top 20 albums. Their 1967 record Surrealistic Pillow is still widely regarded as one of the key recordings of the so-called Summer of Love period and brought the group international recognition (as well as two chart hits: “Somebody to Love” and “White Rabbit” both of which are listed in Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Songs of All Time”).

Successor bands to Jefferson Airplane include Jefferson Starship and Starship while spinoffs include Hot Tuna and KBC Band. Jefferson Airplane was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.

Iggy Pop (born James Newell Osterberg, Jr. on April 21, 1947) is an American songwriter, and occasional actor. Although he has had only limited mainstream commercial success, Iggy Pop is considered an influential innovator of punk rock, hard rock, and other related styles. He is sometimes referred to by the nicknames “the Godfather of Punk” and “the Iguana”, and is widely acknowledged as one of the most dynamic stage performers of all time. Pop began calling himself Iggy after his first band in high school, The Iguanas.

Iggy Pop was the lead singer of The Stooges, a late 1960s/early 1970s rock band who were influential in the development of the nascent hard rock and punk rock genres. The Stooges became infamous for their live performances, during which it was not uncommon for Pop (who traditionally performs bare-chested) to self-mutilate, verbally abuse the audience, expose himself and leap off the stage (the first or among the first to stage dive).

Pop’s popularity has ebbed and flowed throughout the course of his subsequent solo career. His best-known solo songs include “Lust for Life,” “I’m Bored,” “Real Wild Child,” the Top 40 hit “Candy” (with vocalist Kate Pierson of The B-52’s) and “The Passenger”. A film about Iggy Pop’s life and career titled The Passenger is in development. He currently fronts the advertising campaign for the UK-based online insurance company Swiftcover, in his trademark state of toplessness.
