Spazz was an influential American powerviolence band active between 1992 and 2000. The trio released numerous records within this time, many of which are now highly collectible due to their relative rarity. The band’s releases often showcased their unusual sense of humour: absurdly long and nonsensical song titles, audio samples from b-movies and kung-fu films between songs and the occasional use of hip hopbeats as well as saxophones, banjos and other instruments rarely associated within hardcore punk. All three of the members shared vocal duties, usually changing in sequence from line to line.

No Doubt is an American rock band from Anaheim, California that formed in 1986. The ska-pop sound of their first album, No Doubt(1992), failed to make waves. The band’s diamond-certified album Tragic Kingdom helped to launch the ska revival of the 1990s, and “Don’t Speak”, the third single from the album, set a record when it spent sixteen weeks at the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart.

Following this the group released its next album, Return of Saturn, four years later. While a minor success commercially it could not match the success of their previous album and underperformed both commercially and critically. Fifteen months later, the band reappeared with Rock Steady, which incorporated reggae and dancehall music into their work. The album was primarily recorded inJamaica and featured collaborations with Jamaican artists Bounty Killer, Sly and Robbie, and Lady Saw. The album produced twoGrammy-winning singles, “Hey Baby” and “Underneath It All”.

No Doubt released the compilation The Singles 1992–2003 and box set Boom Box in 2003, both of which contained a cover version of the Talk Talk synthpop song “It’s My Life”. Frontwoman Gwen Stefani launched her solo career the next year with several collaborations, including bandmate Tony Kanal as well as Pharrell Williams of The Neptunes, while guitarist Tom Dumont began his side project, Invincible Overlord. During its career, the band has won two Grammy Awards and sold 28 million records worldwide to date. The band embarked on a US national tour throughout the summer of 2009.

Twisted Sister is an American heavy metal band from New York City. Their work fuses the shock tactics of Alice Cooper, the rebellious mood of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, and the extravagant image of glam rock bands such as New York Dolls notably for the makeup. Musically, the band implements elements of traditional heavy metal bands such as Judas Priest, along with a style that is similar to early glam metal bands. The band is generally categorized as glam metal for their earlier work, although the band does not consider themselves to be so.

Although the band was formed by guitarist Jay Jay French in December 1972, all of their songs were written by Dee Snider from 1976 onward. Snider remarked to Johnny Carson that the proposed name for the band was “This” but was rejected for fear of fans saying “this sucks”. He describes Twisted Sister as “Slade meets Sex Pistols”. Twisted Sister’s most well-known hits include “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock”, both popularized in the USA by regular airplay on MTV tv channel in the 1980s. Many of the band’s songs explore themes of parent vs. child conflicts and criticisms of the educational system.

NOFX (pronounced no-eff-ex) is an American punk rock band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1983 in Los Angeles. The band was formed by vocalist and bassist Fat Mike and guitarist Eric Melvin. Drummer Erik Sandin joined them shortly afterward. In 1991 El Hefe joined to play lead guitar and trumpet, rounding out the current line-up. The band rose to popularity in 1994 with their album Punk in Drublic which was certified gold.

NOFX has released 12 studio full lengths, 15 EPs, and many 7″ singles. The group has independently sold over 6 million records worldwide, making them one of the most successful independent acts of all time. The band also aired their own show on Fuse TV entitled NOFX: Backstage Passport.

The 7″ of the Month Club is a series of twelve 7″ records released by punk band NOFX over the course of about one year. Each record was planned for release at the beginning of its specified month, but it quickly fell behind schedule, with records being released shortly after the specified month. The record expected for December was released in early February due to the holiday closing of Fat Wreck Chords, and the twelfth “January” record was released in early March.

The records included several running games: for one, a 24-part joke appears in one-part sections on each side of each record. Also, the backs of the record sleeves form a 12-piece puzzle that reveals an artistic rendering of the members of the band.
